Baseball Recap: Morrow Comes Up Short

Morrow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Langston Hughes Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Malachi Mingo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bryce Glass, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Morrow's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Langston Hughes, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15.

Coming up, Morrow will face off against Dutchtown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Langston Hughes will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' match: after the Mustangs faces off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Langston Hughes again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
