Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Piner Prospectors

The Santa Rosa Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Piner Prospectors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa took on Ukiah on Tuesday. Santa Rosa had to suffer through a 64-26 loss at the hands of Ukiah. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Meanwhile, Piner can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Elsie Allen by a score of 31-21.

Piner's win came from a few key players Santa Rosa will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aaliyah Reece, who posted five points along with ten boards and five steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Cambria Weerts was another key player, putting up four points and 11 rebounds.

Santa Rosa's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Piner, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Everything came up roses for Santa Rosa against Piner in their previous meeting on January 7th, as the team secured a 58-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Rosa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
