Basketball Recap: James Logan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cordova last Saturday, James Logan came back down to earth. The James Logan Colts had to suffer through a 74-30 loss at the hands of the Central Grizzlies. The matchup marked the Colts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, James Logan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jennah Gaoteote posted 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaoteote has scored all season.

Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savana Chase out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Chase is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Vivian Moore was another key player, going 7 for 11 on her way to 16 points and four steals.

James Logan's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

James Logan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-49 defeat against Montgomery on the 28th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-48 win against Monterey Trail on the 28th.
