Recap: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Pittsburg Pirates
The Deer Valley Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Pittsburg, falling 58-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Deer Valley has scored all season.
Pittsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ali Tuotolo out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Yariah Asidanya was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Deer Valley's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Pittsburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Valley will challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Deer Valley likes a good challenge. As for Pittsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
