Basketball Recap: Immanuel Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Immanuel had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They breezed past the Hanford West Huskies to the tune of 69-4. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 26 points or more this season.

China Moreno was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelina 'Nana' Moreno, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and five steals.

Immanuel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Immanuel's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Hanford West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Immanuel has already played their next game, a 62-29 victory against Arroyo Grande on the 24th. As for Hanford West, they will face off against Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
