Football Recap: Bruce Comes Up Short

Bruce lost against East Union back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Urchins. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Bruce still got an impressive performance from Joshua Long, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 147 yards and one TD. A healthy portion of that aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Jermaine Jackson.

Bruce's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for East Union, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bruce will face off against Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Trojans will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for East Union, they will challenge Strayhorn at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Urchins will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
