Basketball Recap: Christopher Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Christopher couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 50-30 to the Prospect Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Prospect had a senior duo take command as Sadie Slaughter dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Kate Barstow shot 4-for-4 from deep and dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Slaughter has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Anbrielle Joan Mangoba was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and three steals.

Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Prospect, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.

Christopher wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-44 defeat against Marin Catholic on the 4th. As for Prospect, they have also already played their next match, a 55-40 loss against Marysville on the 4th.
