After low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Chesapeake brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past the Southern Bulldogs 41-20 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Despite the loss, Southern still got an impressive performance from Brett Apperson, who picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Chesapeake's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Southern, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Chesapeake will face off against St. Charles on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 12.4, St. Charles 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Southern, they will take on Queen Anne's County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
