Volleyball Recap: Rilyn Flotow and Kaylee Gaar Secure Win for Garrett

There's no place like home for Garrett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the DeKalb Barons on Monday. This was payback for the Railroaders, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: DeKalb scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-23.

Garrett was led to victory by Kaylee Gaar and Rilyn Flotow. Gaar had 11 digs and two assists, while Flotow had 32 assists and six digs. Flotow has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 12 times she's played.

Garrett is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for DeKalb, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garrett will take on Woodlan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DeKalb, they will challenge Columbia City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
