Soccer Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

If Alameda was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Oakland Tech on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Grizzlies on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Alameda of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Maya Denham, which was the first she's scored this season.

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for California, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Alameda is taking a road trip to face off against James Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for California, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Archbishop Mitty at 7:00 p.m.
