Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Pensacola Catholic's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Pensacola Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 9-6 to the Escambia Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 back in March.

Pensacola Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Smith has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Lela Laurence was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Pensacola Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Escambia, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Pensacola Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Escambia, they are taking a road trip to take on Tate at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators are facing the Aggies at the right time seeing as the Aggies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
