Football Recap: Mahtomedi Takes a Loss

Mahtomedi came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the St. Thomas Academy Cadets 35-7. The Zephyrs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

St. Thomas Academy was led to victory by Dominic Baez and Tristan Karl. Baez rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while Karl threw for 100 yards and a pair of TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mahtomedi fell to 7-1. As for St. Thomas Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Mahtomedi nor the Cadets have any future games scheduled.
