Softball Recap: Cooper Takes a Loss

Cooper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chapel Hill Red Devils. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Abigail Carter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Alyssa McCarty was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Cooper and Chapel Hill will both be playing Lone Oak the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Buffaloes at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Devils will head out to face them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
