El Capitan came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 67-27 win over the Los Banos Tigers. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Gauchos had established a 26 point advantage.

El Capitan was led to victory by Alexis Valenzuela and Madysen Dietz. Valenzuela posted 19 points and seven steals, while Dietz scored 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Dietz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avnoor Bains, who put up 12 points and five steals.

El Capitan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

El Capitan's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points over those games. As for Los Banos, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

As of now, neither El Capitan nor Los Banos have any future games scheduled.
