Softball Recap: South Shelby Cardinals vs. Clark County Indians
South Shelby extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-14. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clark County Indians. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kylie Million put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Bella Cook made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kinley Maddex, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
