Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Brentwood Academy Eagles

The Northwestern Wildcats will take on the Brentwood Academy Eagles in a holiday battle at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Northwestern got the win against Union City by a conclusive 51-30. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won seven in a row.

Makayla Presser-Palmer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds. The game was her 28th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Gorzynski, who posted nine points and three steals.

Northwestern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

While Brentwood Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Girls Preparatory School 52-31 on Saturday.

Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Brentwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
