Baseball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

Cherokee fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Etowah on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Hudson Will made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Etowah, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Coming up, Cherokee will take on Locust Grove at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Etowah, they will venture away from home to square off against Brookwood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
