Football Recap: Liberty Takes Down Ranked Kailua + How To Watch

Liberty is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Kailua. The Patriots really took it to the Surfriders for the full four quarters, racking up a 33-0 win. The Patriots pushed the score to 26-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Surfriders had little chance of recovering from.

Selby Griego was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 213 yards and one TD. Liberty also got a significant boost from Ezra Sanelivi, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Liberty didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Carter Christensen led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Liberty received some extra help from Tafatoluomalua Atualevao, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory got Liberty back to even at 1-1. As for Kailua, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Liberty is taking a road trip to challenge Casteel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kailua, they will host Kaiser at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Surfriders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
