Soccer Recap: Gunnison Comes Up Short at Home Against Mead

Gunnison unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mead Mavericks on Saturday, falling 5-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gunnison of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Mead has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gunnison will head out to take on Manitou Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mead, they will venture away from home to square off against Riverdale Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
