Recap: Vaughn White Tigers vs. East Valley Falcons
The Vaughn White Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 69-38 victory over East Valley at home. Vaughn has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.
Vaughn had a senior duo take command as Andrea Cervantes dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds and Mariah Eulloqui dropped a triple-double on ten points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. Eulloqui also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Yamileth Ferreira was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Vaughn is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. As for East Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vaughn will take on Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Northridge Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northridge Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
