Rockford Christian won the last time they faced Marian Central Catholic and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Royal Lions had just enough and edged out the Hurricanes 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royal Lions.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Rockford Christian who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 22-25, 25-14.

Madison Anspaugh paced Rockford Christian's offense, picking up 11 kills. Anspaugh got some help from Julia Irvin and her 29 assists. Anspaugh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Rockford Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Marian Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockford Christian will square off against St. Edward at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marian Central Catholic, they will challenge Belvidere at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
