Basketball Recap: Oak Hills Takes Down Chino in a Playoff Battle

Oak Hills extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Chino. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chino Cowboys 41-39. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Cowboys back in December of 2024, they had to take a 45-38 defeat.

Despite the loss, Chino had strong showings from Tess Oldenburg, who posted 23 points and eight boards, and Zhya Holyfield, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Oldenburg's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points.

Oak Hills' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points over those games. As for Chino, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-6.

Looking ahead, Oak Hills will square off against Rosary Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rosary Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Oak Hills surely won't give up without a fight. Chino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
