Basketball Game Preview: Mayfair Monsoons vs. Lynwood Knights

Mayfair is 0-3 against Lynwood since January of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Mayfair Monsoons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lynwood Knights at 5:15 p.m.

Mayfair is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Costa Mesa.

Meanwhile, Lynwood's game on Monday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 49-44 victory over Rosary Academy.

Lynwood is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Mayfair, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Mayfair was taken down by Lynwood 60-15 in their previous matchup on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lynwood's Lunden Edwards, who went 9 for 11 on her way to 20 points and six steals.
