Softball Recap: Athens Christian Takes a Loss

Athens Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to the George Walton Academy Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 10-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Ellianna Christian was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

Athens Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for George Walton Academy, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Athens Christian will square off against Stratford Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for George Walton Academy, they will challenge South Paulding at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
