Baseball Recap: Williamsville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Pleasant Plains typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Williamsville proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Bullets, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Williamsville's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gage Ratliff, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Ratliff has posted since back in March.

The victory was the third in a row for Williamsville, bringing their record up to 14-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Plains, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Williamsville will host New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Plains, they are taking a road trip to square off against Teutopolis at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
