Basketball Recap: New Brighton Takes a Loss

New Brighton played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers, falling 55-5. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lola Garner out in front who posted 13 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Leah Parker, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

New Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16-1. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

New Brighton will host Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mohawk Area at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
