Basketball Recap: Mission College Prep Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Mission College Prep entered their tilt with Morro Bay on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 47-36 win over the Morro Bay Pirates. The Royals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mission College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mary Marsalek, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lillie Parish, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Mission College Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Mission College Prep pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Morro Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Mission College Prep and Morro Bay could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Mission College Prep (ranked 214th) will meet St. Joseph (ranked 36th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Morro Bay (ranked 393rd) will meet Arroyo Grande (ranked 56th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
