Soccer Recap: Rio Linda Gets the Win

Rio Linda hadn't done well against Woodland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rio Linda Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Woodland Wolves 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against Wolves back in December of 2024, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Lizbeth Aguirre and Vanessa Huerta scored both of Rio Linda's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Rio Linda and bumps their season record up to 8-9-3. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2.

Rio Linda will challenge Casa Roble at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland, they and Sutter will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sutter will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Woodland surely won't give up without a fight.
