Softball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

If Aquinas was riding high fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Raymond Central last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Aquinas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brookelynn Banholzer, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Aquinas now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bishop Neumann, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Aquinas will take on Duchesne/Roncalli in a tournament on Saturday. Aquinas' pitchers better be ready for this one: Duchesne/Roncalli has averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season. As for Bishop Neumann, they will welcome Wayne on Tuesday.
