The Russell Rustlers will challenge the Billings Senior Broncs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Russell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Russell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Butte, who was ranked 20th at the time (Russell was ranked seventh). The Rustlers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. Considering the Rustlers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Duece Nichols led a balanced Rustlers bullpen and tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nichols has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Russell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Billings Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-4 to Billings West.

Severen Cellan made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Russell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Billings Senior, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Billings Senior's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Russell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game.
