Basketball Recap: Commodore Perry Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Eastin Post and Bella Saxe

Commodore Perry lost against Clarion-Limestone back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Commodore Perry Panthers lost to the Clarion-Limestone Lions at home by a 62-46 margin.

Bella Saxe and Eastin Post certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Saxe went 6 for 11 on her way to 22 points and five rebounds, while Post posted nine points and six rebounds.

Clarion-Limestone's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Beggs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Beggs a new career-high in assists. Corinne Hepfl was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Commodore Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Clarion-Limestone, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Commodore Perry Panthers take on the Cochranton Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will welcome Moniteau at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
