After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Linn, Russellville was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Harrisburg Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.
K'Lea Basnett made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Basnett wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Strobel, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Corianna Stewart also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Russellville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Harrisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
