Football Game Preview: Jefferson West Tigers vs. Holton Wildcats

Jefferson West hasn't had much luck against Holton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, a win is a win, as they say, even a pretty close 12-7 win over Hiawatha.

Crayton Holman was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 183 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one rushing score. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards.

Meanwhile, Holton entered their tilt with Perry-Lecompton/Bishop Seabury Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed past Perry-Lecompton/Bishop Seabury Academy to the tune of 40-10. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Holton's win came from a few key players Jefferson West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Korban Wilson, who rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Those 157 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Andrew Shupe was another key player, rushing for 124 yards and one score on only 14 carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Holton proved: they limited Perry-Lecompton/Bishop Seabury Academy to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry.
