Softball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bishop McGuinness couldn't beat Bishop Kelley on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Fighting Irish took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The Fighting Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lainey Waldo - 2027 made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Molly Milligan - 2027, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Bishop McGuinness has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Bishop Kelley, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Bishop McGuinness will square off against Weatherford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Kelley, they will take on Claremore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
