Soccer Game Preview: Hesperia vs. Serrano

Hesperia hasn't had much luck against Serrano recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Scorpions will look to defend their home pitch against the Diamondbacks at 4:30 p.m. Hesperia has given up an average of 2.7 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Hesperia's offense. They came up short against Oak Hills on Monday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Hesperia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 731st, while Oak Hills are ranked 189th).

Meanwhile, Serrano came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Burroughs on Monday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Serrano were the better team in the second half.

Genesis Caro and Jada Rodriguez scored all three of Serrano's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Serrano's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Hesperia, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-2.
