Irvine waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Canyon Comanches by a score of 29-21. That's more bragging rights for the Vaqueros, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Canyon still got an impressive performance from Alexander Lundsberg, who threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Irvine's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Canyon, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irvine is set to challenge their familiar foe El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Canyon will face off against rival Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
