Baseball Game Preview: Greene Central Rams vs. Hunt Warriors

The Greene Central Rams will venture away from home to take on the Hunt Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hunt took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Greene Central, who comes in off a win.

Greene Central is headed out to face Hunt after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went the Rams' way against West Craven on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Riley Radford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Radford was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Noah Roberson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Hunt fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Apex on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6.

Jake Harris made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Doll, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Greene Central beat Hunt 7-4 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
