Basketball Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

Antioch saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 70-48 to the Willow Glen Rams. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalia Valerio was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards for Willow Glen. Valerio is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lucia Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Antioch now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Willow Glen, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Antioch will head out on the road to challenge Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Willow Glen, they and Valley Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
