Soccer Game Preview: Woodward Academy vs. Dunwoody

The Woodward Academy War Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Dunwoody Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Woodward Academy proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Lakeside get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given Woodward Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Lakeside are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dunwoody). Everything went their way against Arabia Mountain on Friday as Dunwoody made off with a 6-0 win.

Woodward Academy's record now sits at 7-1. As for Dunwoody, their record is now 2-7-1.

Woodward Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Dunwoody in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodward Academy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
