Basketball Recap: Linden Takes a Loss

Linden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Calaveras Red Hawks 55-2. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Calaveras got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariah Maddock out in front who went 6 for 15 on her way to 13 points and five steals. Maddock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Baechler, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Linden's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Calaveras, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Linden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-24 defeat against Venture Academy on the 19th. As for Calaveras, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-32 win against Weston Ranch on the 19th.
