Cass proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Colonels in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won six in a row.

Cass' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Cass will challenge Chapel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cartersville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
