Softball Recap: Centaurus Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Centaurus hadn't done well against Northglenn recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Norsemen. Considering the Warriors have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Nora Midness spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centaurus let Kaitlyn Long and Emery Fannin run wild. Long went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Fannin went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Long has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Isabel Sanders was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Centaurus' win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Northglenn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centaurus will host Brighton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northglenn, they will welcome Riverdale Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
