Baseball Recap: Dodge County Takes a Loss

Dodge County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Washington County Golden Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Golden Hawks since March 22, 2019.

Holden Thomas and Gabe Yeomans did some serious damage despite the final result: Thomas went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Yeomans scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dodge County is 3-1 when Yeomans posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

Dodge County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Washington County, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
