Softball Recap: Pekin Takes a Loss

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mediapolis Bulldogs, falling 9-1. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 15-3 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pekin's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Mediapolis, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pekin will head out to face off against Wapello at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mediapolis, they will take on West Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
