            Football Recap: Clear Falls Knights vs. Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes        
        
		
        
        
            Clear Falls unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell  42-37 to the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the  19-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in August of 2024.
Clear Falls lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Kyden Barker, who threw for 332 yards and two  TDs, and also punched in one  score on the ground.  Cameron Kern helped  Barker out on the ground, picking up 55 receiving yards and one  touchdown, while also rushing for 39 yards and one  score.
 Even if they lost, Clear Falls' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.  Preston Pitts was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack, forcing one fumble,  and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
  Khylan Davis had a dynamite game For Fort Bend Hightower., rushing for 80 yards and a pair of  TDs, while also throwing for 227 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 18 passes. 81 of  Davis' passing yards were hauled in by Cori Robertson.
 Looking ahead, Clear Falls is headed away from home for the first time to  face off against  George Ranch  at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 840 yards in their previous games. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Westfield  at 7:00  p.m.
