Basketball Game Preview: Pottstown Trojans vs. Upper Merion Area Vikings

Pottstown is 2-8 against Upper Merion Area since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Pottstown Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Upper Merion Area Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pottstown will head into Monday's match on the come-up: they were handed a 36-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past Norristown 45-42.

It was another big night for Jayanna Hill, who posted 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Jackson, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Merion Area). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Upper Perkiomen 63-24. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Upper Merion Area's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Pottstown, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Things could have been worse for Pottstown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Upper Merion Area when the teams last played on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Upper Merion Area's Kennedy Coles, who went 9 of 21 on her way to 18 points along with six steals and five assists.
