It was a good run, but Pioneer unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitney Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 54-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Pioneer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Almendarez, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alissa Belen, who scored 12 points.

Pioneer's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-9. As for Whitney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Pioneer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 71-7 win against Artesia on the 17th. As for Whitney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-31 victory against Oxford Academy on the 17th.
