Soccer Game Preview: Long Beach Poly vs. Compton

Long Beach Poly is a perfect 10-0 against Compton since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Jackrabbits will head out to take on the Tarbabes at 5:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Long Beach Poly will head out to face Compton after giving up their first home loss of the season on Thursday. The Jackrabbits came up short against Millikan, falling 3-0. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Long Beach Poly it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, Compton fell victim to Millikan and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to the Rams. While losing is never fun, Compton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1123rd, while Millikan are ranked 151st).

Compton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19-3. As for Long Beach Poly, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

Long Beach Poly got the 'W' in their previous matchup on January 8th against Compton by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jackrabbits since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
