Baseball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Providence Christian Academy Storm. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Tuesday.

Kamdin Mize was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He has become a key player for Commerce: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-10 otherwise.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Providence Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Providence Christian Academy beat Commerce by a score of 13-6 later that day.
