Basketball Recap: Chester Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Chester entered their tilt with Chichester on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Chichester Eagles 67-26. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Eagles are ranked 675th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Imani Dorsey, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Dorsey is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Mya Muhammad, who went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points along with six boards and four steals.

Dorsey wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Chester was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Chester's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Chichester, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Chester has already played their next matchup (against Strath Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chichester and Delaware County Christian will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Delaware County Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chichester surely won't give up without a fight.
